POSITION SCOPE

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Solar Engineer to join our rapidly growing commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, engineering, and implementing complex rooftop solar projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Conduct site assessments and review engineering designs for commercial and industrial rooftop solar projects from the beginning to the end of projects (Conceptual Design, Construction Design, As-built Design)
• Utilize industry-standard design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and SketchUp to produce high-quality designs.
• Calculate the overspill/exported solar power based on the client PLN bills, load profile, onsite measures when available and PVsyst simulation results to size the system.
• Ensure compliance with relevant international and local codes, standards, and regulations, including electrical, structural, and building codes (IEC, PUIL, SNI, etc.)
• Manage the technical quality of multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with cross-functional teams, solar developers, EPC contractors and O&M contractors to solve the ad-hoc matters arising in the project life cycle.
• Prepare and review technical proposals, BOM, BOQ, contracts, and relevant technical documents to advise BOD and management team from the technical perspective.
• Prepare the technical guidelines, electrical calculation sheets, technical reports, and relevant procedures for solar projects to support the company in controlling the installation quality of solar projects.
• Contribute the technical perspective in Operation & Maintenance activities (O&M manual, solar monitoring set up, etc.)
• Conduct on-site construction supervision and commissioning activities to ensure projects are installed to design specifications.
• Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to improve project delivery continuously.
• Other tasks if required relating to technical scope.

POSITION HOLDER REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Engineering or related field, focusing on electrical or renewable energy engineering.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge            

• At least three years of experience in commercial and industrial rooftop/farm solar project design and engineering. Experience with commissioning and construction supervision is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles, including AC and DC systems, grounding, and lightning protection. Knowledge/Experience in System Security and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be considered an advantage. 
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, such as PVsyst, Helioscope, SolarGIS, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
• Knowledge of relevant international and local codes, standards, and regulations, including electrical, structural, and building codes (IEC, PUIL, SNI, etc.)

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and willingness to travel.
• Good in English, with good verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong Office skills and experience in reporting by Power PI is a plus.
• Having experience of Project Management is a plus
